On Thursday, June 27, 2024, Seoyon E-Hwa’s Ulsan Plant, in collaboration with the Buk-gu Office and the Buk-gu Volunteer Center, held the "Movie Day for People with Disabilities" event. Designed to provide cultural experiences for individuals with disabilities, who often face restrictions on outdoor activities, this annual event has been conducted for the third time, consistently drawing high attendance and positive feedback from participants. This year, approximately 120 individuals attended, including residents and staff from Echo Hill, Our Home Disability Shelter, Disability Welfare Center, and staff from the Buk-gu Volunteer Center.

Before the movie screening, attendees watched a gratitude video created by disability institutions and a promotional video of Seoyon E-Hwa. A "Breaking the Gourd" event, prepared by the welfare center, was also held. In sync with the enthusiastic cheers of the attendees, Seoyon E-Hwa’s labor and management teams, along with the mayor of Buk-gu, broke the pot, revealing a message inside: "Seoyon E-Hwa labor and management, thank you very much." Participants expressed gratitude, stating that the event brought them a small joy amidst their routine lives.

For individuals with hearing and developmental disabilities, watching a movie without assistance can be challenging. Recognizing that cultural activities, which many take for granted, involve numerous obstacles for people with disabilities, we rent an entire theater each year to ensure a comfortable viewing environment. Seoyon E-Hwa’s labor and management teams assisted with guidance to the theater and seating arrangements. To enhance the movie experience, we provided popcorn and beverages essential for enjoying a movie. During the screening, we performed "assistant roles," including restroom guidance and support in case of emergencies, ensuring a safe and enjoyable event.

After the movie, Seoyon E-Hwa’s labor and management teams helped participants safely return home and cleaned the theater surroundings, ensuring the event concluded smoothly. Many participants and welfare organization staff expressed their gratitude with smiles. Seoyon E-Hwa’s labor and management teams felt equally fulfilled, bringing the attendees a bit of happiness.

Seoyon E-Hwa will continue to support the cultural life and social integration of people with disabilities, maintaining ongoing interest and assistance for underprivileged communities.
